TEPS, an English test certified by the government, is widely used as a part of the state examination process in the hiring of diplomats, administrators, and public servants. TEPS is also a part of the process of obtaining various professional licenses, such as those for patent attorneys, certified public accountants, and tax accountants. In these exams, only applicants whose TEPS scores are above a certain cut score can move on to the next stage.
