Policy on IDs

  • Test takers without a valid and acceptable ID cannot take the test and will be asked to leave.
  • If you are caught without a valid ID during a test, your scores will be rendered invalid.
  • Information on your ID such as photo, name, resident registration number, and issuing organization must be recognizable.

Types of IDs accepted by TEPS Council

※ If you do not have one of the following IDs on the test day, you will not be able to take the test.

Category Acceptable ID
Adults, college students Resident registration card (or confirmation slip for its issuance), driver's license, Mobile driver's license, valid passport, ID card for public officials, welfare card for the disabled

※ Undergraduate and graduate student ID cards are not acceptable.

Mobile driver's license is not acceptable.
Middle/high school
students
Student ID card (must include photo, your name, and your school name ),
valid passport, youth ID card (or confirmation slip for its issuance)
Elementary school students Valid passport, youth ID card (or confirmation slip for its issuance)
Military personnel Resident registration card (or confirmation slip for its issuance), driver’s license, Mobile driver's license, valid passport, ID card for military executives, ID card for military personnel
Mobile driver's license is not acceptable.
Foreigners ARC (alien registration card), valid passport, registration document for domestic residency (issued by the Immigration Office)
